She is survived by her three children, Bruce Edwards (Susan), Brian Edwards (Amy), her daughter Nancy Freeman (Jerry), her five grandchildren, Tony, Chad, Emily, Kelsey and Blake, her twelve great grandchildren and her sister-in-law Ginny Edwards. She was born in Mankato, Minnesota September 9, 1927, to Charlie and Margaret Wegge. Passed away peacefully, with family by her side, at age 94 on August 11, 2022.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Ten Mile Lake Assoc iation : There will be a celebration of life on Wednesday, May 24 from 4 – 7 pm at Town & Country Club, 300 N. She is survived by her husband Tom children Kevin (Emily), and Kelsey (Matt) two grandchildren (Graham and Miles) and her siblings Joan (Tony) Matkaiti, William (Ruth) Dwyer, Patrick (Trish) Dwyer, Michael Dwyer, Timmy (Cheryl) Dwyer and Monica Frischkorn. Colleen is reunited with her parents William and Beatrice, sister Bebe, and dog Boomer. In her later years, she especially loved long walks with her dog Casey and winding down with a few fingers of scotch. Her selfless and sweet demeanor touched the hearts of many.
Colleen was a devoted, caring mother and loving wife. She enjoyed visiting Ten Mile Lake with family and friends every summer, hosting annual Christmas gatherings and being an active volunteer with her Parish.
A passionate gardener like her mother, Colleen tirelessly perfected her award-winning rose garden. She had a fulfilling career as a bookkeeper and was known as a "human calculator" by those close to her. Colleen, the third of eight siblings, would delight in any opportunity to share stories of her close-knit, Irish Catholic upbringing. Age 71, of Saint Paul, MN Peacefully passed away on Apsurrounded by her husband and children.
